Videos are the New Online Salesmen!
Truth be told, EVERYONE is now watching videos! In fact, a Cisco study shows that by 2021, 80% of the world’s internet traffic will be video, this is up from 67% in 2017. For me personally, YouTube has become my number one go-to-site for most search enquiries. I mean, think about it, every time you do a search in Google, video suggestions pop-up that give you more concise information about your enquiry than the long-winded articles or blogs. That’s because video content is more easily consumed.
Gone are the days of consumers going into department stores to ask a sales representative his/her opinion on a product. Google reports that around 50% of online consumers are looking for review videos about a product or service before they purchase the item. How cool is that?
Here are some tips on how to create effective Marketing Videos
Retain your Audience in 15 seconds
The first 15 seconds of your video is the most critical for audience retention. Start your video with a bang-on intro that explains your offer. Try not being long-winded; be super passionate and convince your viewer to stick with you to learn more or to get more.
Social video platforms enable you to target your video ads by location, demographics, and interests. This means that you can create your marketing videos with targeted content for your audience.
Be Interactive
Videos need a call-to-action. You want people to like, comment, share and subscribe to your video. You want to convert your audience into to a sale. The only way to make this happen is to interact with your audience by letting them know what they need to do next.
For example, your video can include annotations, such as: “Enjoying my video? Give it a like!”. Or, “don’t delay, click here to get your own copy while quantities last”
Closed Caption (Subtitles)
The importance of Closed Captioning cannot be overstated. Closed captioning and subtitling are both processes of displaying text for visual display on a digital screen. For the most part, viewers are watching videos on mute via mobile. By adding closed captioning to your videos, people (and potential customers!) can watch your video content anywhere, even in situations where audio isn’t ideal.
Take time to transcribe your video so that subtitles are available.
Headlines
Make sure your video headlines are sensational and emotionally compelling so that when they show up in people’s social stream, they will want click for more.
Captivating Display Information
There are 3 major display information that is necessary for video marketing:
Video Title – Make sure the title you give to your video is emotionally compelling.
Thumbnail – Your thumbnail must stand out. Create a custom thumbnail that stands out and is enticing. You want viewers to click on your video to see what’s inside.
Description – In one sentence, write something that is emotionally compelling about your video.
